      Course Overview

      This course is a Human Resources management course that delivers the basic concept of Human Capital Theory (HCT) that focuses on the investment in individuals who are referred to as employees, workers and labors. This investment can be mathematically measured, recognized and developed based on the economic value these individuals are able to contribute to the organization, company or establishment. Economic capital is typically measured by the ability to perform labour that results in economic value. Education, training, skills development and marketable talents are ways in which individuals increase their ability to acquire knowledge and generate higher productivity and wages.
      Performance Appraisal (PA) is one of the well-known methodology through which HCT can be duly implemented and disseminated. Performance Appraisal, that is also called "Performance Review," is a management approach to the quality assessment of individual's performance. It is considered as part of a larger overall umbrella in the performance management system that includes; goals setting framework and two-way feedback loop.
      Jordanian Legislations (JL), Jordanian labor law, regulates the national labor market. It acts as a discipline tool that regulates the actions of both; the organization and the worker. It is sometimes known as the incubator of power that ensures a substantial harmony and stability in the national market. In PA, Jordanian labor legislations act as a platform combines both; the organization and the worker on the same track. JL looks at the PA including its procedures, practices, documentations and forms as a part of the labor contract that defines the business relations between the org. and the worker, the employee or the labour. PA according to the legislations is considered as an essential institutional practice that articulates both parity's (the org. and the worker) rights and duties in the workplace. HCI, PA and JL will be the main interacting bodies in this course to form an overall better understanding of this crucial part of "performance management".
      Course Expectations
      Interacting and proactive participants will be given the opportunity to:
      1. Enhance their understanding of Human Capital Investment concepts in contrast with the classical Human Resources management concepts.
      2. Gain valuable knowledge in the Human Capital Investment, performance appraisal fields as well as in the Jordanian legislations about Performance appraisal.
      3. Improve their skills in performance management practices.
      4. Earn essential knowledge of the HAY system attributes in the performance management and job analysis field.
      5. Boost professional capabilities to implement complete performance appraisal procedures including problem-solving tools.
      6. Involve in case studies of Human Investment concepts and best practices of Performance Appraisal system.

      Earn a certificate in Human Capital Investment and Performance Appraisal approved by the Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research for veteran's benefits

      This Course is designed for:
      HR directors and specialists who seeks new tracks of managerial skills in their organizations.
      Private Business owners as leaders of their team of workers and employees.
      Heads of Personnel divisions who looks after career promotional avenues to improve their skills in performance management practices and performance appraisal systems.
      All Key persons and principals on advanced positions of decision making activities relevant to Human Resources and workforce areas.
      The course will be provided and conducted by Al Thuneayah for Development & Consulting (ATDC), in cooperation with the Consultations and Training Center at the University of Jordan.
